Terms and Conditions
(Updated March 2026)
1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Math is Art website and tutoring services. By enrolling or using our services, you agree to comply with them.

2. Services Provided
Math is Art provides in-person tutoring sessions at a student’s home or another mutually agreed location. These sessions are subject to tutor availability, travel distance, and safety considerations. In-person tutoring is generally offered to students located within reasonable travelling distance of the tutor.

Math is Art also provides online maths tutoring through:

-
Live group lessons
-
Optional recorded sessions
-
Additional digital resources

Our services are available to students aged 5 to 18, from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 5, including those preparing for GCSE Maths or completing GCSE re-sits.
3. Enrolment and Payment
Lessons are billed as a monthly membership, payable on the 1st of each month.

-
Tuition is set at £X per lesson, with Y lessons per week (as per price plan), scheduled during UK school term time (approximately 36–38 weeks per academic year).
-
The subscription payment is spread evenly across the academic year (September–July).
-
The monthly fee remains the same regardless of the number of teaching weeks in a month.
-
Payment must be made in full to access scheduled sessions.
-
New students may be offered a free “micro teach” session before committing.
-
Accepted payment methods: Wix Payments, PayPal, Bank Transfer, payment links and other approved gateways.
-
No lessons will be scheduled during school holidays (including half-terms, Christmas, Easter, and summer). The fixed monthly fee already accounts for these breaks.
-
Term dates will be provided in advance.
-
Notice must be given if you do not wish to continue into the next academic year.
-
For in-person tutoring, lesson prices may vary depending on the distance travelled and location of the session. Any additional travel-related costs or adjustments to lesson pricing will be discussed and agreed with the parent/carer in advance.
-
In-person sessions may also be subject to minimum booking durations or scheduling constraints depending on travel requirements.
4. Cancellations and Refunds
-
You may cancel your membership at any time by contacting us before your next billing cycle.
-
No refunds will be issued for lessons already delivered.
-
Refunds for unused sessions may be granted at our sole discretion, where appropriate notice is given. Requests must be made in writing within 7 days of the missed session.
-
We are not obliged to provide refunds where a student fails to attend without notice.
-
For in-person tutoring sessions, at least 24 hours’ notice should be provided for cancellations where possible. Failure to provide reasonable notice may result in the lesson being charged in full, particularly where travel arrangements have already been made.
-
If the tutor is unable to attend a scheduled in-person lesson due to illness, travel disruption, or unforeseen circumstances, the session may be rescheduled or delivered online where appropriate.

5. User Responsibilities
-
Students must attend lessons punctually and follow tutor guidance.
-
Parents/carers are responsible for ensuring appropriate internet connection and devices.
-
Respectful conduct is mandatory in all sessions. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for any disruptive behaviour.
-
For intensive exam revision programmes, we may recommend additional practice outside of scheduled tutoring weeks. Parents and students will be advised of any extra resources or requirements in advance.
-
For in-person tutoring sessions, parents or guardians must ensure that the learning environment is safe, suitable, and free from significant distractions so that the lesson can be delivered effectively.
-
A responsible adult (parent or guardian) should normally be present in the home during sessions involving students under the age of 18.

6. Safeguarding & Working with Minors
-
All tutors have enhanced DBS checks.
-
For all students up to the age of 18, verifiable parental consent is required before lessons commence.
-
For in-person tutoring, sessions will take place in an appropriate and safe location within the home (for example a living room, dining area, or study space). Tutors reserve the right to decline or discontinue a session if they believe the environment does not meet appropriate safeguarding or safety standards.

7. Session Recordings
Some sessions may be recorded to support learning and monitor quality. These will be:

-
Communicated in advance to parents (or students aged 16–18).
-
Stored securely.
-
Not shared without explicit consent.
-
You may opt out of recordings by notifying us via email.
-
In-person tutoring sessions are generally not recorded unless agreed in advance by both the tutor and parent/carer
